Image Line and the Mac: Not Quite Mac Zealots

Yes, Image Line, maker of FL Studio, hates Macs, so it is a reasonably big deal that they’ve just announced they’ll be porting a newly-ported plug-in to Mac. Well, sort of a big deal, anyway. Technically, porting plug-ins between platforms is not an enormous issue; it’s primarily an issue of testing. Testing, though, means hauling Macs into your office. Image Line Acquires Toxic III Hybrid Synth; Mac Version Coming

First, long-time Windows developer Cakewalk went cross-platform with their soft synth line. Now, FL Studio (Fruity Loops) creators Image Line are developing a Mac plug-in: KVR reports they’ve acquired hybrid FM/subtractive synth Toxic III and are planning a Mac port.
