Kiloheart’s unique semi-modular soft synth now adds a granular synthesis engine in its granulator section – and since you’ll need it, a new audio editor. That adds to this toolbox of sound creation goodies.

So, while we’re being spoiled for choice, let’s be… even more spoiled for choice.

This is a free update for Phase Plant, a toolset that already includes a bunch of generators, modulators, and effects, and lets you combine them at will – sort of like a build-your-own polysynth workstation. (Build-a-Bear for synth heads?)

That’s all fine and well – FM, samples, wavetables, nice effects. (You can add more via subscription – though their subscription is only ten bucks a month and counts in part toward permanent licenses.) But now you also get a granular generator included free, which apparently a lot of you wanted, because of course you would.

Think Grain Envelope, pitch and phase, position with randomization, precise envelope controls, and some nice little twists. (Hey, there’s always room for new ideas in granular synthesis.)

And there’s this sound editor, too, for everything from the granular engine to sampling and convolution modules:
