Chasing Rainbows (Festival Edit) – Fhloston Paradigm from King Britt on Vimeo.
Fhloston Paradigm is King Britt’s project from last year on Kode9’s Hyperdub label, dripping with all-analog sound and sci-fi afro futurism. And now it has the music video to match. It could well inspire you to get up and dance, survivalist style.
The project grows out of King’s drool-worthy studio – a compact balance of Roland DR110, Korg Mono/Poly, Korg MS20, Roland JX3P, Moog Sonic 6 and SQ10 sequencer.
King’s touring now, with the live debut of Fhloston Paradigm slated for October 26th at the Mountain Oasis Festival alongside Nine Inch Nails. (Vintage synth battle!) If you’re lucky enough to be in New York, you can also catch King later today at PS1’s legendary Warm Up in Queens.
And the video seems the perfect weekend distraction. Hope you’re enjoying yours. Credits:
Fhloston Paradigm is a manifestation of afro futurist ideals, based in an electronic music landscape. It walks the line of duality, both science fact and science fiction. It is the future of the now moment. The purpose is to transmit the omni-versal message of divine abstractions into aural pleasing tones. – King Britt

And commentary on the video:
Chasing Rainbows was filmed along the obtuse fringes of a wildlife preserve on a day stretched by sweltering bliss. Fholston Paradigm’s octave is juxtaposed to this sprained fable of a wanderer who is her own congress. Can time pry dance from the preface of no more? Hyperdub weilds the outcome while loneliness waits for all men. Nicodemus Atrium Galleries and Crushedblack visual media presents a tragedy called truth exalted by the traditions of the unknown!
