Korg's new ultra-high-end OASYS
workstation was shown at NAMM, but as of yet, details are scant about
pricing, availability, and even some of the technical specs on the
keyboard. (Is this OASYS in a keyboard — will it have the same models
as the original?) You can definitely expect more in-depth details soon,
but at least the retail channel is expecting their imminent arrival. An
associate at Sam Ash Music Stores
tells me the Manhattan location will be one of the few retail locations
to get one of these babies live and in person, and has said they'll
have one in the two-month timeframe. (That may be my only way to see
one; I don't think Korg will otherwise let me near something that —
breakable.)

Start saving your pennies, as price is expected around US$8000. And
yes, it is Linux-powered, running proprietary software on top. (Who
will be the first to hack it?)
