Swiss lighting design outfit Lichtkompetenz sends a projection that tells the story of the evolution of electrified light – the story behind this site, if ever there were one. Projection-on-sculpture is becoming almost an expectation as much as novelty; here, it’s nice to see the sculptural canvas amplify the narrative. It’s not just about shining light on the structure (literally), but allowing that structure to better immerse the viewer in the story, in the content. Details:
This a 3d mapping projection done by Lichtkompetenz for the 10 year anniversary. The projection shows electrical light evolution, starting from electricity generation, showing large old style incandescent lamps, smaller fluorescent lights, color surface lighting and others. Projection continues showing lighting design solutions and finishes with colorful organic lights of the future.
The projection was done on a specially made sculpture. Sculpture was 2.7m height, 4m length and 2.8m depth.
