2012 Music Video Mashup from Renier Mouthaan on Vimeo.

I want my music television.

Someone spiked my egg nog, and I had the craziest dream. I dreamt all the major music videos of 2012 somehow ran end to end in a blur. And what a year it was – Korean pop and Elijah Wood’s arm going to pieces and beautiful special effects and spandex bodysuits with monkey faces. (Seriously. Something must have been in that Christmas cocktail apart from dairy. Those visions can’t be normal.)

There are actually some gems in here, and a sense – watching the totality of the list – of just how varied music videos can be. Who needs a TV network for the stuff, with the Internet?

The mash-up comes to us again from Renier Mouthaan, whose effort last year instead was a one-hour megamix. In compressed view, here, the effect is I think more effective.
