Weekend Inspiration returns!
First up, while casually browsing the tubes this week (rather than, yanno, doing work) I stumbled upon this little Youtube video – Psyk by Plastikman – Video by Ali Demirel Magnetmus:
Which reminded me how nice it can be to Keep It Simple Stupid. Sometimes finding and exploring little things can be very rewarding. Working them in depth can be as fulfilling as going apeshit crazy with the effects – and sometimes more so because you can really drive the point home and not loose your focus.
On the other end of the spectrum, there is lots of creative work and cross over between Visualists/VJ performance and coding in the Demoscene world. While im not super familiar with the ins and outs of the community, I stumbled on to http://mac.scene.org/ – a site specifically for Macintosh based demo products. Download a scene or two (if you are on PC or linux, check out the main scene.org site) and prepare for some nice synesthetic effects.
I’d love to know what your favorite well executed ‘simple video’ is, and any amazing demos you may know of. Keep those creative juices flowing.
