It’s only fair to say that it can be a pretty useful thing to be able to control your DAW from an iPad, and controlling Ableton Live is probably something that a lot of people have wanted to do. Over the years there have been a lot of solutions for doing this, so here’s one more.
This option refers to itself as the “Ableton Live iPad Editor”, and with it you can control Live on PC or Mac. The user also interface appears to be like Ableton Live. It’s worth noting that this isn’t an app. It’s actually a template or something similar for TB Midi Stuff, which is an older control surface app for iOS. TB Midi stuff first appeared back in 2012, but its last update was September 2014. So I’m not entirely sure how it’ll respond on the latest versions of iOS.
The template can control the scenes, volume, sends, recording, and you can also switch to the step sequencer where you can edit tracks or make new tracks. The template uses the MIDI Remote Scripts “Launchpad95” amongst others.
