You’re under stress. Trapped in a fluorescent-lit prison of your own making, chained to your desk behind the cold glow of your computer. You dream of being a futuristic cosmonaut-tourist, truly getting away from it all.

French-born photographer/filmmaker Diane Drubay has what you need. Her hyperreal, dreamy videos use real seaside footage, warped into acidic colors. To gaze into her sunsets and rippling surfaces is to give yourself the holiday in the Alpha Centuari system you’ll never have. (Okay, it really is all Earth – maybe Earth is space-ier than you thought.)

And all of this is doubly worth mentioning because of the trippy, ambient soundscapes contributed by Diane’s friends – output of the late-night musings of Berlin’s hyperactive electronic set.

Turn down the lights and enjoy; links to the artists included, as this is a great excuse to go find them.

I’ve saved a really good one for last; it wasn’t in the screening I caught last night, but the production from earlier this year in Poland and Mallorca takes on an especially otherworldly quality.

Music, again: Halv Dröm.

Space out, star children.

Image from last night’s screening in a Neukölln club, in advance of the (far less interesting) Back to the Future 2. Maybe living in the future, 2015 is a lot more interesting than Hollywood imagined, after all.
