You’ve seen plenty of gate sequencers and Euclidean generators. DivSkip is something different: It takes four channels of triggers and transforms them via eight different musical, performative modes. It’s a do-everything rhythmic wunderkind.

DivSkip is the latest module collaboration from video personality DivKid, created with Making Sound Machines. Here’s a first watch:

Four channels of inputs (note trigger input), eight outputs, plus four independent channels of probability CV. Why eight outputs if it’s four channels? Well, if you skip gates, you get two groups of gates – the gates that play, and the gates that are “skipped.”

And then you get eight modes to process these – watch them in the videos for now, and share some full explanations another time:

It’s all in 8HP, and really nicely set up for hands-on live performance (as advertised). That makes a welcome change from the brain-breaking menu diving on some multi-function modules; this is really configured for your grubby fingers playing live.
