Hispasonic has a hands-on video with the Dexter control surface. I must say, I’m impressed with how far the Dexter has evolved in its user interface over the Lemur. There are a lot of new widgets to support the DAW functions, and (finally) real interactive interlinking of control pages from the main screen, such as calling up full-screen EQ, rather than the primitive paging mechanism in the Lemur. The integration with Logic looks nice. (But if I were using Logic, I’d be more interested in creating a new instrument for controlling Sculpture than adjusting pan and faders.)
I still wonder if producers will prefer this to tactile, hardware control surfaces. It’s also interesting to me that the person demoing generally uses only one finger: just because something can do multi-touch doesn’t mean you will always need to use that functionality.
