I’m sure you’ve gazed up at big LED screens on stadiums and convention centers and the like and said this would be a lot more fun if I could play video games on it.

Developers Mode Set got to live – and share – that dream. And they didn’t stop there: they built the whole thing with Kinect, allowing full-body participation, and then shared all their free code so you creative coders out there can learn from the project. (Code links below, along with all the libraries and whatnot.)

KacheOut is an open source Kinect-based video game, developed by Mode Set for Create Denver Week 2012. The 2-player game was built with Processing & Java, on top of the Haxademic library, with additional help from the following libraries:
