Ableton Live’s new MIDI tools can be really useful – if you can get the hang of them. For that, we turn to long-time educator Madeleine Bloom for a breakdown.

Chop, glissando, and LFO Transformation tools are now available for Live clips – that’s in addition to the LFO in Modulators. Incidentally, both LFO and Glissando transformations support MPE, which means you can apply them to recorded MPE performances or use them with MPE sound generators even when a controller is out of reach.

Those Transformations are in all editions – including the one you get if you just got a Move. With Standard, you also get filtering and selection tools, also covered here.
