Drop a video clip into VJ/media server tools Resolume Arena or Avenue, hit loop, and now with this free add-on, get automatic crossfades for more seamless playback. Looper is the loop crossfading Resolume forgot, and it delivers perfectly.

The inimitable VJ UNION gets the jump on this story on a Saturday, and it’s something plenty of Resolume users have long envisioned. It’s pretty simple – but also the kind of thing you could wind up using in every project, saving you a ton of advance prep work with clips.

  • Add Looper as a source in your composition
  • Drag and drop files for instant automatic fades
  • Choose Adjust if you want to fine-tune the fade-in point and fade duration
  • Update thumbnails for multiple instances

Watch – along with a catchy (AI-generated?) song (LOOPAH!):

I love this kind of thing; original developers often have a long backlog of feature requests to deal with. Sometimes, we can all use an outside perspective. And maybe it’ll inspire the Resolume team – they’ve kept plenty busy with a massive update cadence, so no complaints there.

KPT, the developer, has loads of other stuff for sale – like this advanced Flow Motion plugin. (I haven’t tested these, but they look interesting.)
