Long-running Ableton Live guru Brian Funk has made a holiday tradition of releasing freebies. He’s outdone himself this year, by turning the sound of Rudolph’s nose in the 1964 TV special into a complete Live Instrument Pack.
And it doesn’t stop there. You get 16 Macro Controls and 9 Macro Variations named after each of Santa’s reindeer. That’s some extra effort right there.
Have at it. Ableton Live 11 standard or greater required for full functionality (though samples in Packs can be accessed even without Live):

I know lots of you are holed up with US weather mayhem canceling travel and COVID-19 infections and any number of other crises, so I hope whatever your background, this gives you a little break to do something fun this week.
And for those of you who have no idea what this thing is – let’s not be culturally exclusionary here – this probably pretty much covers it:
Other than that, all you need to know is that this is an enchanted reindeer with a truly weird-sounding synthesized nose noise, which I think we can all get behind.
By the way, all you folks aspiring to composition – and don’t let any reindeer bullies try to discourage you – you might also check out Brian’s podcast with composer Johannes Ringen (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, Netflix’s Troll):

Enjoy! Stay warm (or cool, as applicable), stay safe (everywhere), and happy holidays (to everyone)!
