Lebanon’s musicians are a model for action — they deserve support now

Again and again, music communities in Lebanon have embraced mutual aid and spoken out through activism and in their art. That’s been true from experimental music labels to the Beirut Synthesizer Center initiative. They’re getting results. It’s time for the international music scene and press to do more.

Support Filipino music and relief for Northern Cebu earthquake – let’s go

There are two things we should be doing more of: cramming independent music into our minds and embracing grassroots aid. Last week, Northern Cebu in the Philippines was hit by a devastating earthquake. Local outlet Pawn Records has some beautiful music to support and not nearly enough people supporting it. Let’s change that, CDM readers. I’m curious to see how many people we can get onboard.

John Object is again sharing music so his Ukrainian unit can get a van

Your donations in March, both internationally and in Ukraine, helped purchase a Honda SUV for John Object’s former unit in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We have a glimpse of that vehicle and a chance to hear more of Timur’s fantastic music — this time, to help buy a VW Transporter.
