If you wished Ableton’s Note app worked as a controller, this could be for you. 7III Tap lets you play, use scales, control devices, trigger clips, and mix from your phone.

We’ve seen iOS controllers for Live before, but this one is uniquely built around the phone form factor, and it takes some lessons from Note (and Push). Onboard features:

  • Tracks and mixing
  • Device view with encoders
  • MIDI grid with scales, velocity modes, and mod
  • Clip view with launching and context menu
  • Custom MIDI CC screen

It all connects via a custom MIDI Remote Script and you can use a USB connection. (There are some question marks in the Windows instructions; let us know how you get on if you try it.)

One more demos – videos are being updated regularly in the playlist:

Tap is currently in beta, but there’s a form to sign up.
