A perfect 1U row doesn’t exi– oh, okay tubbetec. You got us. Add a row of big, clicky keys (or more “tactile” ones) and get your step sequencing in a row on Eurorack. It’s called “Drummertime.” Genius.
Depending on how wide your 1U Eurorack row is — that’s the single-height row on cases like Intellijel’s — you can opt for a 74HP or 60HP row; the 60HP one is paired with a 4HP 3U height. Either way, you get the same number of steps and full-sized keys.
By the way, if you want this but don’t want to burn that much HP — or prefer 3U — tubbetec has you. Their 6equencer draws inspiration from the TR-606 and comes in your choice of 3U * 6HP, or 1U * 24HP Intellijel. (see below) But it’s great to have this bigger format and functionality, especially for live use.
The Intellijel Palette is a favorite for many of us, so it makes total sense that they’ve designed a version that fits that. The full specs look nicely thought out. It’s Friday evening, so I’ll copy/paste, which will explain why I suddenly switch to non-US spelling (it’s secretly my favourite!):

- Step based drum sequencer with 8 instruments inspired by TR-x0x drum machines.
- Compatible with analogue and midi based systems
- 16 patterns, chainable in song mode, up to 32 patterns in a song
- Forward, backward, ping-pong and random play directions for patterns and songs
- Mute instruments live
- Probability control of steps
- Swing with adjustable amount
- Various types of Flam or Ratchet effects
- Record steps by tapping or via midi
- Clear steps while playing
- Pattern length can be set individually (Last Step)
- Copy, Paste and Clear patterns in song mode
- 8 trigger outputs with adjustable trigger length, midi out
- Analogue clock or midi clock input with adjustable clock divider
- A built in clock generator with 1 BPM resolution tempo adjustment and tap-tempo functionality.
- Multiple Drummertimes can be chained to achieve longer sequences or more instruments.
- Trigger and record via midi in, doubles as midi interface
- Trigger midi instruments via midi out
It’s obviously useful for drums, but then it becomes a trigger and clock row when your rig switches to another function. And those colored LEDs provide additional feedback (red, purple, blue).
