Scales among updates to the free Ardour DAW — with tuning on the way

Ardour 9.8 continues the rapid, detailed development of this free and open-source DAW, with improved session recovery and clip recording, expanded support for controllers and hardware, and an arpeggiator MIDI tool. The 9.8 update also adds scales and keys, but with a twist: unlike competing software, scales/modes will soon be tuning-aware.

You’re about to open up a browser tab and listen to a drum machine made with a bouncing DVD logo, or a game of Minesweeper, or seismic data, De Bruijn sequences, or pics of cats and boots. Okay, it’s fairly short of 10k — they’re at 48 so far — but if this is your first time, you’d better plan on not getting any more work done today anyway.
